Touring through Wales

This is only a small part of Conwy Castle which had a long fortified wall enclosing the entire town of Conwy. Once Edward 1 had built his castles, most with enclosed towns, the English settlers moved in encouraged by grants of land and trading priviledges. The Welsh were excluded!
